On 10th of May (Sunday), I trekked with a trekking group from Srinagar to Mahu Valley which is almost 34 Kms from Banihal.The place with exquisite beauty and serene atmosphere remains unexplored till now. We departed from Kulgam at 7.00 AM and by 9:00 AM we reached the Mahu Valley base camp. Upon the directions issued by the group leader, we came to know that the trek is moderate upto the elevation of about 900m. Further, it was told that the group will follow a circuit trek with a round distance of about 13 Kms.We started our trek with the guidance of 02 local boys who led us to beautiful meadows through refreshing drinking water riveruts.On the way stunning peaks of Hoen Heng of Kulgam and Angrez thum(highest peak in Ramban district) can be seen amidst the breathtaking scenes of the valley. On 13th of May 2026, I had to reach by 6:30 AM to Kupwara to participate in Pad yatra. after reaching there and attending the Yatra, I along with my friend decided to visit Lolab Valley particularly the areas of doban, Aafan, Diver and Gagal. As we tried to depart in my personal vehicle, the policemen patrolling party didn't allow us to go there and directed us to keep our vehicle away from the road. After, an hour or two, we were allowed after checking id card of my friend and finally We departed from Kupwara to reach the residence of my friend. Had lunch and reached to Aafan Lolab. As we parked our vehicle in courtyard of a local resident 's house, we started moving towards a waterfall called Ambri Waterfall and the beauty of this waterfall was that it seemed untouched by humans and unexplored at this point of time.Restes in the middle of the way and ate Samosas.
